The baking plates are made entirely of Himalayan mineral salt and will offer you an unprecedented taste and healthy cooking experience! Impress your guests and family by cooking and serving your food on these plates!
Plates can be used as dishes, platters, cutting boards, cooling plates, etc. Their use in cooking is a new way of cooking that great chefs use to offer their customers a unique tasting experience as well as a distinctive aesthetic result on the table!
When it comes to heating and cleaning, salt slabs need care, especially at first. The first few times you use them, you should be careful. During the first few uses, cracks and crevices will appear and their original pink color may change to a whiter one. This is normal and should not worry you, with use and washing you may find that they regain some of their original color.
To grill on salt slabs, they must be at least 0.5cm thick. Place the slab on the gas burner, in the oven or on your BBQ (charcoal / gas / electric), pour your favorite spices on it, WITHOUT adding salt and cook everything such as meat, seafood, fish, vegetables, eggs, etc.
If you want them to be less salty, all you have to do is brush the plate and the food with oil and let them cook!
PREHEATING:
Because the plate is mineral, it must be heated and cooled gradually.
1. For gas stoves
Place the griddle on the stovetop. Set the heat to low and let it heat for 15 minutes. You may notice moisture accumulating on the edges, which will evaporate as the griddle heats up. The slower you do it, the better!
2. For electric stoves
On electric stoves, there is less humidity and more even heat distribution. If you are heating on the stovetop, use a baking sheet or wok stand or some metal object to raise the plate slightly above the stove. Set the temperature to low and let it heat for 10 minutes. Then continue with the desired temperature. Because the plate is mineral, it should be heated and cooled gradually.
3. For BBQ (Gas / Charcoal / Electric)
Place the plate on your BBQ grill. Set the temperature to level 1. After 10 minutes, increase the temperature to level 3 to allow the plate to adjust to the temperature change.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Let the plate cool completely. Rinse with lukewarm water and a sponge. Rub vigorously on areas where food residue (grease) may have stuck or crystallized. Dry evenly with a soft cloth or paper. Let it air dry naturally and store in a moisture-free place!
ATTENTION!
DO NOT SOAK THE PLATE AND DO NOT USE DETERGENT!
How salty will the food be?
The amount of salt that penetrates the food depends on how much liquid is in the food, its fat content, how hot the salt plate is, and how long you cook it on it.
To make them less salty, brush the plate with pure olive oil (good quality) to create a natural film and after it burns, brush it with olive oil again, and put whatever you have chosen to cook on it! If you want to reduce the salt even more, brush your food with olive oil too.
